how remove ignition switch w116

Please help...need to get ignition switch out of w116 car. How easy or hard is it? Bob F

http://www.mercedesstory.pl/rysunki_116.php I think its not the ignition switch but the steering lock that will give you the most trouble.

used vibrator and got tumbler to move ...I was quite surprised. Bob

The mind boggles.....So the earth may not have moved but the tumbler certainly did.

It's a common Mercedes problem ,cuased by old age.I have found that flushing the locks with WD40 ( and the plastic straw) every couple of years cleans the dirt out of the locks, regardless of what others have said over the years regarding the use of oil in locks.

got key out of #1 position removed tumbler and went to MB dealership. No replacement tumbler with original key available. MB is looking for someone to manufacture the things....any help anyone?
