success at last
Thanks for the note on the '74 diagram. Downloaded that from braingears and found that the wiring at the switches was indeed incorrect. Fixed it and got three of four to roll down and no blown fuses. Now, just one window to trouble shoot... Thanks everyone for all of your help.

All good...
Got all four windows to roll up and down!!! On the passenger side, they seem a bit slow and sluggish at some points. They also don't seem to slide properly. Pretty confident that I can figure out the rest. Thanks for all of your help everyone. Hope I can return the favors..

What was the issue with the 4th window, I have one that does not go down as well. Maybe I can check what you did to get your final window to work.
Congrats on the fix! |

Greg:
Have you lubed the window tracks with white grease? (The tracks for the scissor rollers in the door, not the felt lined tracks for the glass.) This can greatly ease the load on the PW motor so it runs easier and lasts longer. You can use the tube or the spray can-type, it is real easy, but a bit messier if you push the button before carfully aiming the nozzle. Ask me how I know this... 230/8 |

1982 280se windows stoped working
After finaly geting every bug out of this car, before my dad passed, he warned me that the power button sticks on the driver side in the up position so i was always causes. But oh no, the girly could not keep her hands off of it. While i was driving, she closed my window, and of course the button stuck and now no windows work. This hapened to my dad and he had to replace the window mottor, so thats the first thing i thought of or hoping the fuse went out. The fuse is not blown, and the mottor still works when i removed the door panel and ran power to it . So now i am back here seeking advise. I thought if i would change out the swich maybe it all would come back on, but after talking to a guy at a shop, he says that would not cause the other windows not to work. Can anyone give me a hint what i should do with this problem. Alex
