type N9Y plugs, gapped to 0.024 inches according to my Chiltons repair book
(edit: I believe "N9Y" is Champion sparkplug number, considered the standard when Chiltons was published with Champion catalogues all over the parts shops, easily cross-referenced to NGK and Bosch equivalents. I liked Champions because varying heat ranges were so easy to figure out. For example, N11Y would be slightly hotter than N9Y - good info if the car burns oil and your plugs foul. "Y" indicates plug thread length. Last edited by 300SDog; 07-29-2006 at 02:37 PM. |
