What in the heck is this guy talking about?

Anyone know what this is? To me, it seems to be an overpriced 280SE. What's the "G" stuff?

As far as I can see, I agree on the overpriced AND the implied "Normal" 280SE 6-cyl.

With the huge plastyic mats there, there's no way of telling if his interior is in the exact same condition as mine (great black tex, shot carpets/mats) or if it's in pristine condition. Plus it could be a new $100 paintjob to try to get $12k for it (which will NEVER happen).

The "G" stands for gold which should be about 35 ounces in the trunk to justify the price.

Yeah, Right!

13K opening bid?
Amazing how some folks are divorced from reality as to value of old Benz's - perhaps he paid 12K for it...

But 0 bids will eventually provide a recalibration of seller's reality quotient!

Is that really leather or is it MB-Tex? And, cruise control??? I do not see an aftermarket cruise and I do not think such was available in 1970 from the factory or dealer...

For a 13G opneing bid I would expect about fifty pictures detailing the showroom condition of every stinkin' nut and bolt along with documentation from Day One. But, I'm funny like that (re: $)

Awww, you don't think 7 small pics and a very thorough description ("excellent condition as seen in pictures. runs great - everything works") justifies a $13k starting bid?

Only if he thought it were a 6.3 would he come close to being able to justify that.

And with such a brief description and such crappy pics, he still wouldn't.
