TTS operation

So I checked the TTS operation by jumping 12v to the G terminal and timed how long it takes for the W to open. This takes only seconds at 20'C.

Question is today the temp was low, 10'C, and the CSV stays on after the car has started for another 30-50secs. Running rich until it shuts off, then I have my "usual" fast idle until operating temp.

So it is possible for the TTS to have not heated up enough to stay open during the starting cycle, it then closes and turns the CSV on. Is the TTS just failing and needs replacing, but if power is only present when you are cranking, how can the CSV remain on then suddenly shut off.

As I mentioned when the ambient temp is higher (20'C) the system seems to work time, I have verified with the test light that the CSV shuts off after cranking at this temp. I have not tested at the colder temp but can tell by the overly rich idle for the first 30-50secs.

Thanks.

at 20C it should take 12 seconds. Any less means it may be bad. Knowing it takes so little at 20 but so much at 10, it may have a bad bimetallic spring. Those things get quite touchy when worn. The manual I have doesnt specify a SPECIFIC time for -20C but says "Between 5 and 20 seconds" - so I'd assume it would be 20S at -20C and therefore your TTS is likely bad if it's open longer than that at only +10C!
