I got the Importbaron

About a month ago, I bought a set of mercedes center caps off of ebay from the Importbaron. I herd from here that he had a bad rep but I had done business with him berore and figured if I don't screw the transaction up, it should go well. Well I get a note a week after the auction telling me the ones he had for sale were black, not blue and would I like the black or I could have my money back. I told him no, I don't want the black and I wanted my Paypal account credited and he said OK. First 1 week goes buy, then another, then another and so I started sending him emails with copies of his promis. He never got back to me so one day at work I decided 2 can play the mail game so I sent him 30 of the same emails requesting resolution. Oh, he was mad. Sent me a message asking if I was OK or was I crazy. I told him that everyone knows his reputation and the only way to get his attension is to SPAM him and I want my money back. His response was to just send the parts back. I told him he never sent them (like talking to a brick). I filed with PayPal just before the cut off and they reimbursed my account. All during the meantime I bought cheap fuses from the Baron and he never knew it was me so when the reimbursement came through, I gave hime bad feedback for 2 items. I guess what they say is true: If the feedback is less than 98.5% don't even bother. Last buy from me he will ever get.

Isn't it nice dealing with morons that try and spin everything that is their fault into somehow being your fault and then has an attitude about. Too bad this forum isn't better known by people getting ripped off by Importbaron.

Importbaron

I have had good and bad experiences. The online store (Mercedesparts.com) seems much better than the Ebay auctions. I bought quite a few parts from the online store before I figured out they were the same person. I was quite pleased with the price I got on new 3.5 coupe taillight lenses. I did send back$40 worth of parts that I never got a refund on so I guess that's not too bad.

I was screwed by one ebay seller on two separate items, and in the end, left her two negative feedbacks.

So what does she do?

Leaves me negative feedback (twice) just to screw me, and I'm the one who sent her the money via paypal and got jipped.

Negative feedback on ebay

This is one major problem with leaving someone negative feedback on ebay, I left negative feedback for an item that was never sent and no response to my emails after seven weeks.
Guess what?
I got negative feeback in return, even though all I was guilty of, was to pay for the item I bid on within one hour of the auction ending.
I made many attempts to try and get ebay to see how ridiculous it is for people who deservedly get negative feedback to be able to then leave negative feedback in return, in spite and for no other reason than spite.
Got all ebays standard answers about this beeing out of their control, which is total rubbish, they can't be bothered to deal with this and as far as I'm concerned, totally defeats the whole purpose of leaving feedback in the first place. These people know that by returning negative feedback they put people off ever sending negative feedback, or any feedback. Shame!

Rant over!

Wait until the 23rd hour on day 89 to leave negative feedback.

In other words, do it at the last minute so they CANT leave revenge negative feedback.

In addition to waiting, if you are the buyer, NEVER be the first to leave negative feedback.

In my opinion ebay should require the seller to leave feedback first. It seems to me that is the only way to make it fair.

Good information that he has really not cleaned up his act much. There was some speculation recently that he had. I doubt that it is possible to be a little crooked. Funny thing is he seems to want to remain selling on ebay so why defeat himself? Perhaps mentally disturbed does fit. Make sure to post the experience on the trouble with vendors sticky. A guy could get really burnt with purchase of an expensive item. This might be the same guy that sold expensive parts he did not even have awhile ago. Yet his current feedback is not bad the last time I looked. Ebay can be pretty sick at times.

I purchased some pieces from the importbaron and was also not impressed. Lately I have been getting some pieces from www.autopartsbrothers.com and have been very satisfied. I was shorted one part in a shipment and notified him via e-mail. I received a response the next morning with an apology and a phone number, then I received the part that afternoon. When I spoke with him on the phone he said if I could provide part numbers he could probably get the pieces. So far so good!

Ebay protects power sellers like importbaron. They make a lot of money off him. One guy discovered that importbaron got Ebay to remove a LOT of negative feedback people left for him.

*That* feature of Ebay is not common knowledge.

Somebody should sue Ebay for accessory to slander (if thats possible) when importbaron goes off on somebody. Probably covered by the Ebay agreement.

I hope everyone is aware that eBay changed their rules, sellers cannot leave negative feedback anymore. It was a tit for a tat thing that they finally realized too many buyers were getting mad and leaving eBay or clogging the complaint system
And hey, life with Importbaron goes on.
Bookmark this (perhaps there should be a sticky on services that track eBay sellers? (and buyers too!)

Robert Heidrich, of, mercedesparts.com, Importbaron on Ebay has ALS
(look it up) and is on a new direction of life.
His assistant probably is trying his best.
He is local and has supplied me with many parts. I go directly to his shop here in La Mesa Ca. Just give him a call like I do.

I'm sorry he has a terminal disease - but that's still no excuse for dishonest dealings. My grandfather had terminal cancer, and I never heard of any shady dealings before he died.

That might explain one of his statement on eBay:
"yes its inhuman people like you who fault paraplgics (sic) for trying to keep off welf"are
I would still alert people who can't walk in to make a local purchase (where you have the ability to see what you are buying) that any dealing with him via eBay are likely to be very risky.
