Nice score! Looks like it's somewhere on the east side. Sad that those euro bumpers got crushed...

Sharp from up front and inside.

Too bad the rear is so bad.

Got the rare 116 manual heat control system too - canibalizing that feature alone will make it worth the price.

It's a good deal

All the sheet metal but the rear doors is usable. You can then sell the engine and EFI system to a W108 owner who needs it as this car has the same D-Jet setup as the 280SEL 4.5.

The front bumper is not too shabby either.

Between your 6.9 and 300SD, I think you should have a healthy source of parts.

Thumbs up

That was a nice car before it got hit. You have a lot more than that what you paid, the hubcaps alone probably are worth what you paid for the car

Clever way to buy the car, too.

Looking for a running parts car is going to be your cheapest bet.

The interior looks beautiful too. I have seen a couple with "restored" interiors that did not look nearly as good. I really like that parchment color too. I think anyone would like to find a parts car that nice for $200. You scored big time besides the fact that it was close enough go get it.

Yes this was on the east side of Milwaukee. A block from the Allen Bradley clock. It would have made a nice background, but that close it was an impossible angle to shoot.

I like it when people e-bay their cars and take pics at a historical site.

M-100 engine

Chris Maher can be found on the IMG (http://www.m-100.cc). When I last stopped by, he had a couple of 6.9 blocks lying around.

I would ping him to see if he's willing to sell any.

there are two different threads from a few months back on a pair of 6.9s that were in Santa Rosa. They might still be around. -CTH

There is a shop here in Dallas that has a twin turbo 6.9 motor for sale with 4000 miles on it. Kinda pricey.
