300sd 1979 turbo 116 needs help on dummy lights
hi all, new here and recently purchased this vehicle, planning on restoring but recently having problems with hard start, dummy light directly to the left of the glow plug light, it is a circle and keeps blinking, what is this light? i assume it could be the check engine light if there is one on this vehicle, but was running fine until this. please help, thanks in advance. linda ann

If the 116's are anything like 123's and 126's it is probably your brake pad warning lite. Tells you when the pads are worn down and need to be replaced. Gets its signal from small wires that end in small probes that are poked into little factory drilled holes in the front brake pads.

Thanks, I think ur right, as I have just replaced front brakes and i didn't put the sensors back on because they were shot. linda ann

Hmmm, that is not the response I would have expected. Seems like they would only act up if they were connected and were shorting to the rotor because the pads were worn down. Now I'm not sure how or what is happening here.
