Arrow Mercedes Benz W123 500E - AMG tribute

Hi, my name is Anton, 24 years old, from Croatia, little city of Vinkovci in eastern Croatia.
I wanted to represent my project to you, fans of W123, so if you are interested, check it out:

http://www.5wwwww5.com/mercedes

It is 1978. 230S model.
Well, I ran into a very cheap option for 600$ for completely W126 1985. 500SE.Only problem with the car was, that had bosnian papers, all other things, are good!
Everything on car works, from condition, to heating of front seats.
So, I wanted do make car, that original factory didn't do it ( if you ask me, I really don't understand, it would be a great hit! ), to put a V8 in W123, and that is why I called it "AMG tribute".
A bought that W123 for 70$, and it was also automatic, but had no automatic in it, because it was sold.
As you see, altough there is some rust, car is in very, very good shape, all major and vital parts are very good, construction itself is untacked!
Project started in may of 2006., and I hope it will be finished soon.

Best regards, Anton

very, very nice. I just paid somebody to do all that to a 230sl (well, not the motor transplant, just the welding and paint). Cost a heck of a lot. Have you tracked how many hours you spent so far? My poor car needed 350 hours of work.

Thats pretty serious work, I have to ask why you didnt look to find a less rusty car. You must have put hours into rebuilding that shell.

Very impressive.

I did not know how rare it was, but I have seen and heard one, a silver-green W123 AMG wagon, owned by a registered Importer in California, as his personal vehicle, the car has the metal AMG build plate on the door jamb and the vehicle is authentic. The engine sounds like a '60's American muscle car
