Thanks, me too! 2500lb Firestone bags all around 3/8 air line and york compressor for supply. When it's driven around I have it set at factory height but when I park or cruise down the strip I drop it. I love this car.

Here's some shots of my '64 taken before I removed its original California black plates. Bought in late 2005 from the second owner who had it since 1967! About as original and umolested an example as can be found.

NHDOC, your car is exactly the reverse of the car I really wanted, black with a red interior (I had two of them a long time ago).

Mine is Horizon Blue with a tan interior.

Thanks for the kind words, guys...I'm really pleased to have found this little gem. It was listed on eBay but I was able to make a deal with the seller directly and had it shipped east by DAS in the fall of 2005.

It's odd that with the black interior it has the ivory steering wheel but that does appear to be original as the shifter and turn signal stalk also are ivory. Maybe someone replaced all 3 pieces at some point or it just came that way but it looks a little strange...I like it though.

The car came without A/C originally but the PO owned a radiator and A/C shop and installed what I have called the "bone chiller". It needed one new hose which I replaced and recharged it (R12) and the thing puts out huge volumes of ice cold air, even on low settings. It's amazing. Everything else on the car is stock...it has power brakes (front discs) but no power steering. Apparently that was still optional in '64. It has a 4 speed on the tree and a blast to drive around. I really haven't done too much to it since I have had it. I haven't even had it safety inspected yet so I drive it sparingly since it doesn't have the sticker for that.

Ivory steerwheel and shifter were a buyer Option.
They are Ivory in color only.

Option Code # 551 - Ivory-coloured steering wheel

Keep those plates! You never know when you may want them on the car again. I have had several cars with the original black plates including a '57 Oval window VW and a "64 XKE Roadster.

Here's my old beast.

It does have an ivory wheel, but it has been under a cover for 40 years, and I am afraid to see what's under it...
