Sorry for bugging you again! (like i siad, this is all new to me, so I want to learn!)

again, here is my 1973 280C

there is a belt missing (see pics I have attached)

what does this belt run? and how fast do i need to replace it? and of course, if i need to replace it, what size is it?

the large object on the left is the ac compressor. it may well be locked up. if your other belts are intact you should be fine. the one driving the fan is the most important. the one driving the alternator is second most important and the one driving the power steering if separate is third most important. the ac belt doesnt matter unless it also drives something else. your pic doesn ot show the other belts so i cant say from memory what else drives what.

Is there also an empty spool on the crank pulley? If so then the original belt probly ran across 3 points - being the 2 pulleys pictured and the crank below. For measuring what size to buy, use a piece of rope.

But you sure as hell dont want the AC hooked up if it's frozen/petrified in place. And judging by all the rust in the engine compartment, a dead seized AC compressor is what you've got.

yes there is a third one below..

all the wheels still turn very well! so they are definitaly not seized up!
