carb issues. car dies with coming to a stop.

1969 280S.

ok car takes a bit to start up on cold day. engine runs pretty well. car can drive steady with no problem. come to a stop and dies out. let car sit for 5 mins. starts up again.

if I keep the pedal pressed during the braking it can stay running with some fiddling.

but normally - the idle is ok and not low.

what is my car's problem. is there something that is directly connected to the brakes that makes the car die at a stop sign?

sounds like a gas delivery problem, fuel pump, line/filter issue.
Is this a sudden development?

Yes. If your brake booster leaks vacuum, it will drag the engine down when you press the brake pedal.
