1965 220b engine rebuild

Hi my names kevin, im looking for information on parts avalability for an engine rebuild kit for my 1965 220b engine #M180.940 im looking to rebore the cylendars so new piston, rings, all the gaskets, new camshaft, and bearing, exhast valves and seals-- the whole enchillada(other parts not listed but should be replaced as well). So if anybody knows a good place to find a kit, or rebulit engine(although id like to do it myself) plz email me (dillonk@gmail.com)

also if anybody has any experience with this rebuild, or helpful comments ill take them too.

those vintage are unsleeved engines. if your pistons check out it will give a better job and save money if you reuse your pistons and sleeve the block instead of boring it.

I'm really not an expert on these things, do you have moreinfo on this espiacialy where to find parts

the only site ive found thast sells these engines is

As long as there is no ridge at the top of the cylinders, just hone it and put in new rings. Get the crank checked and reground if necessary. It uses a square section rope rear main seal.

im more worried about the valves and timing that the pistons/ compression good ideas on what ill need to do the valve train.

the cars big problems are low power and long warmup times to prevent stalling

The symptoms that you have can be a result of many issues. Have you done the required diagnostic?

doing my homework but my plans are on restoring the car anyway so if this isnt a today thing i might do it tommorow anyway, a fuel pump and lines are in the mail, and the carb was just rebuilt. im more interested in the where than the why. thanks

i just realized you said 220b

not 220d...of course a 22d makes no sense in any case.

scratch my earlier comment.

i just re read and sleeving might make sense...it depends on the cost of new pistons, really.
