vacuum modulator adjustment - 1980 450sl

What are the procedures (if any) for the proper adjustment on the 450sl?

I've searched the articles and forums, there is plenty of diesel instructions but nothing for the 450sl gasoline transmission.

Thanks!

The proper adjustment would be to attach a pressure gauge to the modulator test port, rev the motor to the appropriate rpms, detach the vacuum from the modulator and adjust the pressure to the value as per the TDM (technical data manual).

In reality the method used by many with experience is to adjust in increments of 1/2 to 3/4 turns to suit.

Original modulators for a 1980 car will require removal of the hollow bolt attching the metal vacuum line. The adjustment is an allen at the bottom of the hole.
