What's the matter with D-Jet? It works pretty well when it works. I replaced the EFI computer on my 280SEL 4.5 and now my car runs like a train.
Is this a Euro car with the small bumpers of a US spec car with the big bumper?

I bought my 1976 450SEL from a forum member in March 2006 and drove it home. From Dallas to Seattle. In four days.
It's a great car, does what I need it to do, seldom needs fixing and I drive it daily. If it ends up needing replacment, I'd consider another 116. Michael

Large bumpers. US car. Anyway, it appears to have a 6.9 heated back seat and just be kind of a bastard. Apart from the badging, all the panels are just factory 450SEL stuff. If the D-jet just takes basic maintenance, no biggie. I'm guessing it might need fuel pressure regulators and a basic cleaning of the injectors and a few other things.
I sort of have three options running through my brain for the future in order of diminishing return. Option 1. Make it run, fix it up, drive it for a while and see how I like it. Consider further restoration. option 2. End up liking the car more, but having the engine in it be tired/not be able to fix it. Throw a spare 617/4speed auto in it and make it a kinda classy beater/driver. Option 3. Just get rid of it as a running or not running project and don't even touch anything in it. For all practical purposes it is a free car sitting out in the country that I'm in no particular hurry to do anything with one way or another at this point. I certainly feel it is worthy of restoration being a nice original black paint car with only a few specks of rust on closer investigation and being complete with a mostly nice interior.
