69 w113 280SL, Need Help with Lock and advice Please

Hello:

I have a 1969 w113 280sl with a trunk lock problem. The key seems to turn around and around without opening or releasing the trunk.

I was told by the previous mechanic that worked on this car, that i needed a new lock (which i got), and that my main problem is the old lock. That somehow i need to use some violence to open it up.

I contacted several mercedes shops, and they dont work on the car, specially locks.

Then i contacted several locks smith, most dont know whats the best way to approach the trunk lock. And those that might are afraid that they might damage this vintage car (i.e drilling the lock).

Does anyone here has experience with this , know another release point for the trunk beside the trunk itself or knows of any good solution to the trunk lock.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if the lock assembly is the same as the W114 but the lock assembly should be available at the dealer.

113s are tricky b/c you have to push down on the trunk lid as you push in on the button..
If that is not the case , seeing that you have a new lock, I wuld not be worried about drilling out the old one.
I know of no other way to get access to the interior of the trunk.

I do have a new lock for it.

The trunk lock does have the push button, where you put the key in the button turn it to open the trunk. As I said my key keeps turning and turning. But before i start drilling the lock, i will try to push on the trunk at the same time, maybe it is like the w113.

When you drill a lock do you drill directly through the middle push button, or do you drill on the sides of the locks where the inside screws go in.

Thanks

What do you mean "Maybe it is like a 113 " ??
You said it WAS a 113..

Anyway, drill the lock out at the keyhole and then turn the mechanism with a screwdriver blade..
