Model 230.4
Hello,
Found a lady who has a 1974 230.4 that she is selling, she said her husband told her it needs a battery and alternator. I have not seen it yet and have never even heard of that model. Anyone else know anything about it? They are selling it for $450.00 Apparently it's been sitting outside for a couple of years Thanks, Keefer |

i believe that would be a four cylinder gas engine. probably has a carburator. if the body is decent it probably is worth that if it runs and drives. if all it needs is a battery and alternator it should start with a jump.
if it has a carburator and has been sitting for a couple of years the carb may be pretty gunked up. it shold fire and run a bit on a squirt of ether or some gasoline dribbled into the intake. if you do this have a fire extenguisher handy as it can backfire through the carb and have a fire. unless it is a lot better than i imagine i would probably offer a hundred dollars and promise to have it gone the next day. dieseldog seems to know a lot about these older models. maybe you can pm him and get him in on this. good luck tom w

the W114 / W115 models has a 230.4 and a 230.6. The 230.4 is a 2.3 litre 4 cyl car and the 230.6 is a 2.3 litre in line 6. They both look alike but sometimes you would see the 6 cylinder version as a limo. They are nice cars.
Grab it!
