Tucson summers stink, 114 in the shade and at NIGHT! No cool down.

I've been pretty normal since. I was in the garage yesterday trying to pull the intake on my 280ce but failed so I went to sears and got some tools

You're not going to get the same kind of heat in Atlanta as you would in TX. Neither mad dogs or Englishmen want to be out anywhere in TX at around 6pm in August.

I drove the w108 and the 6.9 without A/C when I lived in Atlanta, I really need to get the A/C fixed in the 6.9. The W108 is bearable when you get going, if you turn the quarter window completely back. Now that your in Atlanta, you need to check out http://peachtreemg.com they are a very cool group of people and are very active.

LOL.... I've an idea Bert - its called 85 South between Druid Hills and the Grady curve at 3:45 pm - maybe not today - but last Friday...

....and all because you thought it might be a good idea to hit your coffee roaster for beans before houseguests invaded

The happy part is my new thermostat, correct concentration of coolant and tuneup made my car stay nice and cool!

Ann

OK so I spent 6 hours on blacktop in 90 degree heat to sit around and chat about cars at a local car show, when it was all done I thought, that was crazy and then I remembered , not really, kinda normal for me. Ol Libby had a chance going into the final round for original import until the Delorean showed up with about 75 original miles on the clock, oh well, much fun

Yep, I see you all sitting in I-85 downtown connector traffic from my office. I only drive 5 miles to work through trees and 10th street. Joy of living intown. I withstood Houston without AC in my car because I always owned convertibles ('70 Cadillac Eldorado convertible - 8.0 liter V8, '73 MGB, '80 MGB Limited Edition). Not insane, just cheap student Seriously, Atlanta gets hot (especially on some black asphalt), but Houston gets the added humidity that ATL is spared off. Houston is 100+ in summer with 95+% humidity (I remember sitting in 113F in traffic jam with top down in black car with black interior). If temp hits 90+ in Atlanta, people start whining and moaning.

Well, it's done! I took my time and just piddled around with it an hour or so at a time. What an absolute pain in the neck/shoulders/back.

I'll give one tip. Disconnect the A/C lines and pull the lower unit as one piece. I didn't and spent most of my time trying to get the warped halves of the box to fit together again. Those two clips on the top securing the boxes are a study in frustration. I can't count the numbers of times I had them almost on only to hear that "tink" "whir" rattle, rattle, rattle as the clip slipped, flew and fell, hidden somewhere.

Now I have to rebuild the control valve on the firewall which of course started leaking as soon as I filled the coolant, burped baby and got it up to operating temperature.

Just 8 more months until I get to try it out! Woohoo!
