Hi, new here

Hi all, ive bought, sight unseen from eBay, a 1972 280 SE-L 3.5, hopefully picking it up soon and seeing if it will go through the MOT here in the UK. I understand this is one of the rarest model of W108 so thats good. I had to have it for 1500 pounds. The oldest Benz ive had before is an 85 280SE with the 6 cyl motor and I currently have a 1987 300SE manual trans im trying to get rid of at the moment, see you all around!

welcome to the group. I love the look of those model cars, very classic.
I hope your E-Bay experience is a good one. haven`t bought any cars
there, but all of my purchases have been 98% to the good.
Keep us posted.

I saw a 300SEL 3.5 once in a car lot Never seen a 280SEL 3.5. I don't think that was a US export model.

Cheers!
That's a good price I believe, considering how much more expensive vehicles are in the UK! Yes, the 280SEL 3.5 was the rarest 108 ever made, only 951.

108 and 109 production info

I hope your 3.5 is rust free, and has good timing chain guides! If so, it'll serve you well. Make sure to ask for help if you need it, there are plenty of D-Jet and m116/m117 gurus on this forum, as well as 108/109 wizzes!
