1961 190b new Alternator is putting out 14.1 but

The alternator is putting out 14.1 volts but the battery is only putting out 11.5 so the battery is not receiving charge? What my be the problem now
I think I am getting close

Is the 14.1V at the alternator or at the battery terminals? If it's at the alternator and not at the battery then check the ground connections. If the main ground is between the exhaust manifold and the body move the exhaust end to an engine bolt.

Doublecheck the cable ends. It's easy to transmit voltage but it requires a good connection to carry any amperage.

There is a main ground wire that is bolted to engine block but the other end is not connected. Where sholud it be connected? To alternator or what?

Voltage regulator?

It might be located on the passenger side, on top of the inner fender.
