Brake pads for W114 1973 280E
Hi can anyone confirm the brake pads for the W114 1973 280E? Was going to order some but the pics look different to whats on the car anyone confirm what they should look like?
These are the new ones for the front: But the ones on the car look more square at the bottom...?? Also the rear ones look smaller anyone know the part number or any pics would be great? thanks |

Square on the bottom doesn't make any difference. Just a difference in manufacturers. I don't recall the extra tab on mine. If I remember they just have the two eyelets for the retaining pins.
I think those are for a later model Benz with a wear sensor. I just went over to the Fastlane site. I must have an early '73 280 because my pads are the same as listed for the 220 and 220D. They show the style you have for 280's. Last edited by Mike D; 06-19-2007 at 10:08 AM. |

Personally I've always used the cheapest non-metalic brake pads available and never had problem. Albany makes em for $12 per set. I like cheap soft compound brake pads instead of metalic for the feel they provide. And being visible for inspection whenever you rotate tires or whatnot, dont need the wear indicator.
