The light at the end of the tunnel...
Or at least a glimmer of it!
It appears that I have a 4.5 that has a number of things right with it. My mechanic still has it, but he's been doing the kind of driving around that I do, and it appears that all the driveability fuel/ignition system issues aren't just much improved, they are resolved. New parts, some recycled parts, some rebuilt parts - everything works the way its supposed to now. It has tunes, even Ipod capable ones - thanks to Becker's factory radio service and Jason at Tweeter (who made the aftermarket speakers as unobtrusive as possible). My Becker even has new bulbs. I've conditioned the interior and bit the bullet and replaced the old sheepskin with new, spiffy sheepskin. It will have AC mid next week. I'm on the hunt for someone who can get the massive quantities of oil evacuated from a really botched R134 conversion before my new compressor and receiver/dryer go in. Next stop, under body work and a new muffler. Then some suspension work this fall. Then its pretty much maintence stuff until I'm further along with school and can see doing things like motor, transmission and ultimately a new paint job (looks great from 10' - don't look too close). By then 93 octane will be 8.00 a gallon! Ann
