w123 rear door panel

Someone's kid yanked the ashtray out of the rear door panel, taking with it most of the fibre backing. Can this be replaced? The vinyl/vapour barrier is intact.

Thanks

Sure can. Use the old as a template for the new if you can't source a used piece. I would imagine that finishing plywood (used on floors, I believe 1/8" thick) could be used as a replacement.

I would hunt for a new panel at the junk yard.
