I tried to post this in the diesel forum but they rarely answer the questions I post. I think my car is beyond their knowledge; too old
Was working on the 1967 200D.
What does the linkage that goes between the throttle body and the lever on the injector pump control and how do you adjust it to the proper setting. I know that this fuel system operates from vacuum feed back to adjust fuel delivery, but how do I test it? I need to find a book that details the engine and fuel delivery system in detail. i.e. linkage and fuel delivery IP timing adjustments. Does the original MB manual show these items?
Regards,
Bryan

For this baby, join the vets list http://www.mercedes-veterans.com and talk to Lisa and the other 6+ people with 200D's.

I have a hard copy of a MB diesel engine manual. I will check to see if it covers your engine.

Chuck,
Any luck find that info in the MB Manual?
I would like to see if anyone out there with a 115 body can describe how the linkage is adjusted on their car. they use the same IP pump and linkage as my 67.
Where is the lever on IP pump positioned when the throttle is closed?
Where is the lever on IP pump positioned when at full throttle?
I know removing the linkage off the IP lever, the lever on the IP has about 90 degrees of travel.
The center of the travel (45 degrees) it is in a horizontal position.
Please describe what your lever does at what throttle position.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bryan

I have a 1969 Chilton manual.
It provides measurment of the throttle rods, measured between ball socket centers. No distinction is given between 200D and 220D in this adjustment.
Rod between throttle and bellcrank-
310 mm. (12.1")
Rod between bellcrank and injection-
205 mm. (8.1")
Rod from throttle to accelerator linkage- 250mm. (9.8")
Hope this helps,
Mark DiSilvestro
