107 Tach Question

Does anyone know how the tach on a 107 car (mid '70s SL) receives its information? (TDC sensor to a tach amp to the tach as on 123 cars or what)?

It comes from the points. The Tach taps into the signal going from the points to the electronic ignition box. There's no amp or anything just a straight connection. A green/black wire.

107 Tach Question

Would I then be able to use a tach from a 300d on a 110 engine (6 cylinder) w/electronic ignition by tapping directly into the electronic ignition box?
