M129 valve adjustment grief

Trying to adjust the valves on my 67 250SE W111 coupe, M129 engine. Have a couple of intake & exhaust with no clearance.

Can't get the 14mm adjusting nuts to move. Question is, how much shoulder do you need to budge these buggers? Am I missing a step? I'm reluctant to continue for fear of snapping something.

Many thanks.

You will need to remove the follower and use a 6 point deep socket and 1/2 drive handle to exercize the adjuster back and forth.

There is a limit to how far they will move in. If you have bottomed out, you're in trouble.

Remove the rocker entirely, loosen the ball stud a few turns and then put it back to where you found it. See if that makes it easier.

Thanks for the tips. Thanks to another tip, I had a go with the right tools and all is well. Managed to get everything adjusted to spec (and it was out) and she fired right up, and judging by the exhaust note, breathing much better. Next I have to sort out what I think is a fuel delivery issue to 3 cylinders.

Many thanks!
