Sticky Speedo

No, not after I get out of the pool

The local elemetary school started and the speed limit is 20. First thing in the morning, the speedo doesn't work until I'm doing over 30. Is there an easy fix for this or just live with it?

Thanks

Speedometer

You must pull it out and have it serviced
I've been through this fix many times many different cars with same VDO speedometers. old oil is the culprit.

Small dab of gun grease on the worm gear is what I'd recommend. And possibly less than ONE drop of light oil applied with a needle on the needle spindle. Never oil the odometer gears or you'll lose the odometer.

And while yer in there how's the paint on yer guages? Popular upgrade is repainting em bright orange/red with hobby shop model paint and tiny little brush if they're faded yellow.

And the only caution for pulling the speedo/guage unit is you want to protect wood trim with an old towel from gettin scratched by backside of instruments.
