Just need to win the lottery...

Now this is something I drool about...

http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/5886/index.html?no_cache=1&tx_anamerashowroom_pi1%5BRET%5D=63&tx_anamerashowroom_pi1%5Bitem%5D=3#HISTORY

I saw one of these once at the Nurnburg Ring classic car races loaded out of a trailer. It wasn't as nice as this one, but still... If you ever get the change, take a ride on the old Ring. That track is amazing!

That is a handsome car. I see some similarities in the lines of the rear of it to the later gulllwing.

Bert, this is a very Regal car. The Sindelfingen Designers, really evolved the K-Class, in it's expression. I have been around the earlier 500K Series, and can see this quite clearly. Thanks for posting it.

Tom, I agree with your comments about the rear styling, as the taillamps were relegated to the center-rear bumper area. This really emphasises the curves of the rear fenders and trunk area. To me, it is a very feminine feature, of a very Masculine, Powerful Design, in both Engine and Power, and it's Front End styling. Very Powerful, even in today's modern era. Can you imagine the impact this car had, on the normal guy, back then? It held it's own and probably surpassed Rolls-Royce, in it's time. But, that's what it was created to to do, by Mercedes-Benz, with their friends, who headed the German National Socialist Party, in those days, with great success.

There are many beautiful wonderful cars out there I'd like to own, but ultimately I'd have a hard time driving one that wonderful. Fear of rock chips, for instance.

Very Astute observation there Tom. Why? Because both this car and the 300 SL were the work of Friedrich Geiger ,The First Director of the Daimler Benz Styling department, inaugerated in the mid 1950's .
