Did anyone else here catch note of Bernie Eccelstone's (F1 supremo/midget) massive 20m. pound garage sale for his seldom driven roadcars (held in london about a week ago)?


Of particular interest here was the sale of a number of classic and vintage MBs which included:

1928 SSK roadster
1929 SS sports tourer
1931 SSKL replica
1937 540K Cabriolet
1955 300 SL coupe
1961 300 SL roadster
1966 230 SL

And, of particular interest I thought, were a 1960 300D Cabriolet(!), that has been converted for rallying, and of course a 1937 540K Special Roadster, which fetched nearly 4 million pounds ($US8.4m)


No one here happened to looking for a Benz in the UK last week did they?
