Don't fret. It's the last 5 minutes that count.

You might try vacuuming out all those leaves too. Spray some engine cleaner and hose it down. Show you care, the price will go up with a few cosmetic changes.

I s'pose your right. If it doesn't sell locally I'll put some touches on it, maybe throw the bumper on and the windsheild in and relist it. I've got 90 days to relist it without paying the fee again.

So...

We'll see.

I am suprised that it still didn't sell though.

Nice car...really...I was day dreaming a bit, when I read about it for sale.

I agree....clean it up a bit....the battery terminals are horrid (sorry)...the rest of the engine compartment needs a once over....no need to go crazy...just clean it up a bit. If it is full of shiny spray stuff, it is just as much of a turn off as a groady engine compartment.

How come the headrests aren't on the seats? If there is nothing wrong with them, slide them in.
Might want to take pics of the door, dash and windshield wood - especially the ends of the dash and windshield wood, as they rot there first. If the door seals are in decent shape, take a pic of them too - it's nice to know that you don't have to buy $100+/door seals.
When taking trunk pics, include the sunroof drain hoses in the corners...another known rust prone area, as well as the wells behind the rear wheels. A pic or two of the underside would be nice too.

If there is no rust perforation, you might even attract a foreign buyer.

Good luck!

They call it a "free relist policy", but that can be misleading.

You don't get to relist it for free. You pay for the relisting. If the items sells during the relisted auction - and the requirements are met - then the insertion fee for the second auction will be refunded.

If it doesn't sell the second time around, then it's "two for the price of two".

Unfortunately Craigslist only lets you post 4 so I chose all exterior. I think next time I will include one of the interior in my ad.
If you want to have more and better pictures in your Craigslist ad, it's not all that hard to do. I put a brief description in a reply to just that question in this thread a few weeks ago.

How sprayable are these engine bays? If I take it to the car wash and hose it down with degreaser (assuming I fix the P/S leak), can I just open the hood and go to town with the car wash hose if I'm careful of the distributor cap area?

Also, i've got an add up in parts looking for a few items.

Windsheild seal

Dome light (front)

and a hood star.

The problem with all of this is I'm not going to want to sell it if I get it all prettied up and fix the stupid little things that I've either compiled parts for, or are free, or cheap to fix.

You can spray it down but I don't reccomend using the high pressure hose. It does a good job but you will need to go back and lube all your linkages and cables. Any loose fitting connections (vacuum or electrical) could be knocked loose. Water will be lurking in all the crevices unless you go after it with compressed air.

I usually spray my engine compartment with Engine-brite or any of those commercial spray on degreasers. I spray the goop off with garden hose water pressure. It's more a maintenace thing than a heavy cleaning but it does avoid the high pressure problems.

The high pressure wand is the thing if you are going after really thick caked on glop. Just be aware of the fact most of that glop is going to be sprayed all over the place and expect to go back and do a "pretty-up" after you're done.

Well it's gone. Which I guess means that I'm gone.

I'd like to thank all of the helpful people at Mercedes shop for all of the advice over the past few years. Everything that I did to the supercar I researched here and the info I got was always spot on.

Good luck to you all I hope yr old Benzes only get better with age.

How much did you get for her? You should be proud that you kept her on the road. Good luck!

I got $1100.

Enough to buy a new Nikon D80 with a couple of fast memory cards and a battery grip to go with the lenses I've already got.
