someone buy this car!

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/510279996.html

I emailed him to askif it was a diesle, but it was not, so I dont want any business with it. But he does say it only needs some brake work and a tune up.

I'd suspect that the miles are really at least 154K - it also appears there is a mileage badge on the grille which undermines the 54K mile claim if that is indeed what it is. Almost every 5 digit odometer car is sold claiming the miles shown are original, yet, when pressed the sellers really can't support any claim of miles on them and usually just say "I was going by the odometer". Buyer beware. Still, for a grand it looks like an OK car.

4-spd gasoline 4cyl beats the diesel in my book as desirable car to own and 1969 was very good year for the 115 with massive uphostery. The 230 4cyl (now extinct?) is the one to avoid - known as the head cracker. Betcha "minor mechanical work needed" includes seals, valve job and timing chain at 154k miles. Still an excellent deal, pulling the cyl head on that little engine is piece of cake.

I'm in Cameron Park. I would love to go see this car also. As for the mileage, maybe its one of those things thats like "well it has 54k on it, on the engine".
