Thermostat Ratings and Brand Reccomendation for 6.9
My 6.9 runs warm as I am sure many of yours do as well. I was planning to change the thermostat to a 71C (159F) unit to try to keep the temps down when it's hot outside.
Has anyone else tried this using either he Behr or the Wahler brand thermostats? |

It's best to check with the experts:
http://www.m-100.cc/forum/default.asp it could also be a clogged radiator either inside or out. I would suggest a new thermostat, clean the radiator from behind with a hose to clean it, and make sure the coolant it fresh.

I think that's what I have, I don't see an issue with it. I think my car may need a rebuild radiator at some time though because it still creeps up in traffic. The auxiliary fan keeps it under control.
