73 280se 4.5 m117 injector problem
i have a customer car with no injectors firing. is anyone aware of the amount of voltage going into the trigger points from the #12 connector on the control unit. it appears that the tps and the trigger points share a power source directly from the control unit. any help troubleshooting is appreciated.

#12 is a shared ground. this FI system works backwards than most newer FI systems. the ECU on this system provides the hot while the injectors are always grounded. the ECU, injectors, just about every sensor and actuator under the hood share on ground that should be mounted on the intake manifold, (RR at least on a M117 in a W116 chassis.) it is critical that this ground is clean and tight.
i've got the OE manual on this old D-Jectronic system so PM me if you need more help.

The ground is on the manifold on the w116 but on the w108 is behind the battery. It's easy for it to get corroded and cause injectors to not fire!
If you have this problem it's usually dirty trigger points though. Have you checked to see if they're oil fouled? Happens all too often!
