Naked hubcaps - what do you think?

I started refinishing the hubcaps of my 250C today. The paint on one of the hubcaps was in such bad shape it had to be removed.

What do you guys think - leave unfinished or paint?

I was liking the unfinished look until I saw the pictures. Now I am leaning towards painting them.

Its a lot of trouble, but

you'll be much happier when you've painted them.

What did you use to remove the paint?

I used spray-on stripper and a very fine steel wool (0000?). It worked good.

From time to time I've thought the naked hub caps look good. But you have to be careful and keep you tires very clean. If left dirty, they detract from the beauty of the chrome or polished steel. If you're going to let your tires get dirty, better to paint the HC centers.

I'd love to do this job on mine, how to you plan on repainting them (and you should! ), DIY or will you use a paintshop?
