I not smart, transmission plug type?
I have a 77 300d. Looking to change the transmission fluid and can't figure out how to drain it. On the aft part of the pan there are two silver looking plates. One the size of a silver dollar and the other the size of a nickel. There is a slot in each that looks like an oversized flat head screwdriver would fit. Other than these I don't see anything on the bottom of the transmission that looks like a drain plug. Where do I look and what tools do I need to do this?
Thanks for the help, everyone has their low points.

do you have an automatic or a standard transmision?
If automatic remove pan, pan has no drian. Theres a 5mm hex on torque converter drain plug spin engine until you see torque converter plug. If manual 14mm hex drain plug. |

For an automatic...
remove the connection for the tube for the tranny dipstick.
Don't bend the tube connection too far to remove it. Then drop the tranny pan, install new filter, and torque pan bolts. Then, attach the the tube connection to the pan, with new crush washers.
