Kindof a funky paint job, IMO.

That was not supposed to be factory was it?

I was looking at this yesterday. Looks like the whole car is made from new parts. I wonder how much it will get bid up to. The most expensive finny i`ve seen in the uk was an original very low milage 230 that got bid up to about £14.000 but did not meet reserve.

What do you mean? The two tone colors were factory done at the time...you can see them here:

http://www.heckflosse.nl/excol4.htm

It looks to me like this car had medium blue/horizon blue combination and the plate shows the codes DB350/DB304 which is consistent with those colors.

What a nice car!

Two questions that I have.... Are those the original seatbelts in the front? Does that look like a speaker on the drivers side (where the drivers left lower leg would be)?

I wonder if this is what the showroom cars looked like back then....might even be cleaner.

All seatbelts in these cars would have been dealer-installed and not factory so it is appropriate to have aftermarket seatbelts installed I would think.

I also noticed the speaker in the kick-panel which is probably not authentic. Again though, radios were all aftermarket accessories so maybe some dealers did install them in the kick panels though I think they mostly used the dash grille or rear deck.

It's so clean I would be petrified to drive it.

Seriously it covers all bases: incredible maintenance simplicity, comfortable reclining bench seat that literally folds into bed, highly efficient heat with firewall flap, fuel economy at 20+mpg, incredible coolness factor having signal lights amidships as recently been revived on modern MB's.

I've been saying for years the 190c is ultimate sedan, dunno why anybody should need anything else. Whoever buys this vehicle puts all other automobiles to shame. This is the ultimate cult classic Benz that literally TOLD the world how automobiles oughta be built.

I'm certain his reserve is much higher than $15K...more than double that...still for what looks to be a nuts and bolts up restoration it is probably worth every penny.

OK. The colors still look pretty strange, though. I think the only heckfloss I have seen previously is a 300sel.

Thanks for the posting!

They did not have belts from the factory.

And neither of the ones I had would it have been an easy matter to find a place strong enough to bolt any in.....rusty! Both of mine looked pretty excellent up top but down low......not so good.

Both of mine had the dash speaker.....probably just am radio but I am not sure, its been thirty years!
