Ponton Parts Anyone??? 180 Diesel

We found this Ponton Diesel with the Ragtop(Sunroof) at the salvage yard. There is still alot of good parts on it. Boot, bonnet, glass, sunroof mech, Engine parts.
There is also a taken apart engine in the trunk, a block, crank and flywheel and a head; the non overhead cam head.
Anybody need or want anything, we will go out and get the stuff.
Here is a couple pictures

- I can't believe it.
- Brings tears to my eyes.
- This what should happen to the person that let that car go to waste.

Man that was a sweet car once upon a time. I'm gonna have me one of those one day.

The 180D appears to be a lot more crude looking under the hood than I would have expected. Valve cover looks to be stamped steel. The 190D by 1961 was all cast cover with the large screw-on oil fill or T10 cap. Hmmmm....

Well, the Ponton 180D used a pushrod OHV diesel, carried over from the 170D. The valve-cover may have been cast alloy - it's hard to tell by the one in that photo.
The 1958 Ponton 190D introduced a newly-designed overhead-cam diesel, with the alloy cam cover and oil-cap we're used to seeing on Benz diesels up to the late '60s. Then, the threaded alloy oil-cap changed to a bayonet-type plated-steel oil-cap.

Happy Motoring, Mark

ponton parts, anyone?

Hey, I think there are a few things there that I could use... rear bumper, fuel door, front park light bases, trunk lid, maybe a rear door.

Can you help me out? I will be in ABQ sometime in the near future.

Thanks, Gordon in Silver City

Hi! I noticed in your last picture that the car still has the starter switch in the dashboard. Is it working? Do you think this goes well for a 1961 180Db? If yes, I'm interested. You can email me at lorenzo_pacho@hotmail.com (that's with an underscore between the first and last names). Thanks.

That car should be removed from that yard and restored.
