I just got replacement blades (from here) for this car. They have no spine as the current blades do and are actually very "flexible". Did I get the right blades?

The replacement blades you purchased are for the bosch wipers with metal frames. If you don't have those metal framed wipers, you might check w your local parts store for plastic 'all-in-one' replacements.

Yeah they have metal frames but the blades in there have a spine (they are what was in when I got it) and the flex ones seem flimsy

Oh I see - the new blade inserts don't have the metal spine the older ones had? I've got the same situation - new inserts w old blades.

I'm not sure what the answer is here, what we've got is not hardy enough to deal with any kind of steady use. The blades come detached quite easily. I've seen Bosch NOS metal wipers w/ spined inserts pop up on ebay and go for $50 or so -- too much for me.

Yes, I suspected they would come off easily
