You can't get hurt if you pay that range, but I doubt any seller today would let it go that cheap without at least trying out ebay first. With nice photos an overseas buyer will pay a lot for that car, even with the restoration work, as long as it is well done and the car runs and drives well.

The seller says he has documentation of almost every mile ever driven. There's aledgedly a letter from Benz asking the original owner to take part of a study and record all the mileage.

Anyway, I am not going to buy this car. If anybody wants the seller's contact info, shoot me a PM.

Good decision, forget you even saw it, is what I would do.

I wouldn't touch it either, with the fake paint-job evidence, and the claim of only 36K on the clock. I'm out, period.

My '83 300SD looked better under the hood than that one with almost 300K more on it's clock.
