Just picked up a 1974 240D
Its baby blue (not my first choice, i like that light green, but its hard to be picky) with an off-white interior. 4 speed, odo reads 42K, which its likely 142K, but its not working and the guy didn't know when it had broken, he estimated 180K.
No sunroof (yay, less potential for water leaks, but darn...no sunroof), no central locking (yay, less vacuum worries, darn, no central locking...I've gotten good at fixing vacuum door lock problems), the blower works (YAY!!, right?) engine mounts look okay, we'll find out on the first oil change...looking forward to that. Very little rust behind one or two of the wheels (and one spot on the trunk lid??) no rust under the floors, although under the carpets was damp, it had just rained. Are there clogged drains I should look for? The guy said he hadn't started it in a couple days so I could see how it started cold...after glowing (what a funky was to start the engine), it fired to life. All gears shifted smoothly, I'm excited to have a clutch again I didn't really figure out much on how the climate control works...but he had a factory manual, so I guess that'll tell me. I guess that's all for now, I'll be finding out more I'm sure in the near future.

They usually leak around the windshield and rear lite.
It can be cleaned and caulked with black silicone caulk. Tom W
