Color choice for repaint

My 1972 250C is rapidly approaching re-paint stage. I am torn between keeping it the original white color, or going with a silver-ish color. Any opinions, or even better, pictures of silver 250C's?

I would have to have a compelling reason to change the color.

If you change the color you need to do everything to make sure it's right - remove all the seals to do the door jambs and pillars, engine to do the engine bay etc. You can respray a new color without too much effort but it won't look as "Professional".

It's a 250C so one may argue about not dropping resale value with a different color, etc; but I'd keep it original myself just for the "sake of it." Although I'm not a big fan of white, I think the older MBs look nice in it.

There are alot worse colors than white. Many have been forced to love baby poo brown, squash yellow, or petrol blue green metallic in my case.

I have grown to love that color.

Keep it the same, it will never be right with out a full frame off resto.

If there are imperfections in the body from dents or previous repairs it may be a good idea to keep the car white. Lighter colors hide contour defects better than darker ones. Also there is the consideration of many hours more labor with changing the color due to removal and reinstallation of trim/mouldings, mirrors, door seals, and taping the interior off for painting the door jambs.

Thanks guys. A color change would be relatively easy at this point, as everything is out except the engine/transmission. I think I am going to stick with white though.

I'd stick with the white.

Interior is black. I am not a fan of two-tones.

white is a nice easy paint to paint and wont show imperfections so much. silver is great because you dont have to wash it as often.

I have a 450SLC 5.0 that is painted thristle green. Original color is icon gold. Whoever painted this car green did a bang up job. But I want it back to Icon Gold.
