Attempting to swap out US bumpers on my 6.9 for the Euro's. Was told yesterday by mechanic that there was actually a conversion kit avialable years ago for this job. Has anyone ever heard this and if so where might I get one?

I replaced the huge US bumpers w/ Euros on my 280E years ago w/o any "kit." Everything bolted up perfectly. I think these kits are just a long piece of steel to be installed inside each Euro bumper to pass "US specs" but they aren't really necessary anymore. These simple pieces of steel rust quickly and probably don't do much of anything. In the end, it's the "crumple zone" of the front & back that is going to save your posterior part in any wreck.
