123 wing mirror on a 115
Well the car is parked up on a street outside my house, and I come back today and found somone's driven past and kindly removed the entire wing mirror. Fairly clean - no other damage. That's what you get for living (temporaly) in the city hu...
Anyway, I need to get another wing mirror quick smart - it's drivers side. I can find quite a few 123 mirros but no 115/114 ones. It's a '75 model. The 123 ones look pretty similar, will they fit?

They indeed, look similar but will not interchange. I have some in good condition but shipping to the uk is probably prohibitive.

FYI, shipping would probably be about $20.

I'm in UK so that's driver's mirror. But it has passenger as well...
By wing mirror I mean mounted on the door, not the wing. If you guys have a different name for it let me know!

It's a RHD I presume so it looks like this

I wish my one did have those little triangular windows, love them. You can really funnel the air unto yourself when it's warm. Also means the car's made in the optimum period...

one of the DUMBEST things Daimler Benz did was to export thousands of lowly 115 chassis cars to America with only one mirror, on the Drivers (LHD) side. I thought that an image of a car built to high standards and without a simple safety thing like side mounted mirror was pretty cheap!
The late version 115 is what was pictured previously, with the inside adjustment lever, and they can be hard to find. It seem like anytime one goes looking for 114/115 parts they seem to get scarce but when you don't need one they show up. I bought a unused old stock heater valve from a Brit a few years ago on eBay, it was a sleeper, cost me all of $30 including shipping, and was a beautiful all brass valve still in the box I believe Its now resting in my spares inventory. There were Shopforum members in Australia scouting for the exact same mirrors you are looking for, they were going to sell them over here but I think nothing ever transpired. I never found one for my car and its now gone to MB heaven. Now I have a car with the triangular mirrors on it, same story, none delivered on the right side! Good luck in your search! I believe you will be more likely to find one in the UK than over here.

ok, it's got urgent now, mot in a week. New question, which would take less modifying to fit, 116 or 123 mirror. These are what's available (apart from a £80 115 one, I'm not prepared to pay that). I could do either, but assume one will fit closer than the other. Anyone have an opinion?

I suspect the 116 would be closer.
Good luck. Tom W

Why don't you buy one of the universal mirrors that clamp onto the windowframe?
Very popular on older American cars from the 40s and 50s, when outside mirrors were an option and not standard. Jim

But I've been on the phone to a MB wrecker - I sent him a template and he thought the 116 was close, but then found a 123 coupe mirror he said is the best match. So I'm going for that, will say how well it fits.
