What color is my car?

I have tried to find a color code on my car and I could not. The dealership said they could not locate it. I went to the paint store and looked at 1979 Mercedes colors and the only silver they showed was Astral Silver. Is this correct? It certainly looks correct to me but I wasn't sure. Thanks, Paul

Two things you can do:

Run your VIN through http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/index.html?lng=eng

Or call/email the Mercedes Classic Center, give them your VIN, and ask for your data card.

It is Astral Silver, or at least it will be. I compared the color chip to it and it looks good. I will post as I paint. Paul

Paul, check out PPG omni for Astral Silver. I painted my tire smoker 6.9 that color on thanksgiving day. It snowed that day and all I had was a small oil radiator.

The before and after pictures still don't do it justice.
