There are four plastic rivets that hold it in place. They are located on the front vertical edge (directly behind the hood). I would bother trying to save them! Get four new ones from the dealer....pop the center into the cowl vent (with something like an ice pick) and the outer part can easily be removed. Don't worry about the small piece falling into the cowl and causing any problems! They are too insignificant to cause a rattle, etc. However, once the cowl vent cover is removed, you may be able to find them anyway.

chrome removal

The removal went smooth, sealing the leaks was totally a gas, rained last nite, and there are no more water in my cabin. You must take apart the heater hoses from the firewall to grt your hand in there to work.
