who rebuilds injector pumps?
does anyone here rebuild injector pumps? Mine is a 6 plunger type, 1967 250sec.
It's a nice car, with sunroof and manual shift. It had been sitting for a while. I noticed a couple of oddities about this car. one is that the cold start valve is totally stuck open. the other is that the injector pump is not working. The car initially ran, but it was idling off the cold start valve alone ( yikes!) - I shut that valve off and tried to get it running on the IP. Sometimes it runs on what sounds like 3 cylinders, but that's about it. I am assuming that I need my injector pump rebuilt. I remember something about a guy in New York who specializes in this sort of thing.. what do you think? thanks!

First thing you want to do is verify fuel flow.
Take the line going into the main fuel filter off and slip a rubber hose over the end and stick it in a measure container. Turn the key On and watch the flow. You want 1 ltr/15 secs flow rate for that chassis. There are 3 fiters on that car, so do that test and report your finding. Also, on the back of the Injection Pump ther is a '' T" handled dip stick. Unscrew that and see if the oil level is correct.
