Is there a tool to remove a W108 slotted nut?
The nuts holding in my 4.5's a/c fan and temp switches are slotted. I want to remove the fan switch however I don't want to use force a screwdriver, for fear it will jump and scratch something else.
What is the correct tool? Thanks. |

It's called a eustation wrench. Basically a metal tube with a pair of pins sticking out the end.
It's relatively easy to use a small screw driver in a slot and gently tap the back of the screw driver. Once you turn it 90 degrees, it will come off easily by hand. -CTH |

I used to see them as panel nut wrenches but couldn't find any on google or yahoo last night.
I did find this, at Sears of all places. The two sockets on the right look like what i remember. I just use a small right angle needle nose plier to do the same thing. Michael

Thanks CTH and 250Coupe for your suggestions!
It's now loose so I can now disconnect the blower switch and hopefully clean it up. There are a few dead spots along the rheostat. |
