heckflosse question please advise....
i was offered a '67 heckflosse from a local guy for 7k. The car seems to have original paint and carpet seats etc.
have these prices been going up in the past few years? what do you look for in these cars? also what is the current price ranges for these cars? are the early mk1 style fins more desired? thansk for reading and your input. |

They have been going up in the last five years or so.
The biggest problem with them is rust. They are well engineered cars in every other way, they drive very modernly. If you find one in excellent rust free condition that is really the only kind worth buying. They arent worth fixing if they are rusty. I had two of them. loved them.....rustbuckets both and only 12 years old at the time. Tom W

1st version, up to 1963 model year chage, had drum brakes and single circuit brakes, except the cab/coupe whick came with front disc I think. Also, there is a flap on the firewall used for colder climates.
2nd version changed to dual circuit front disc rear drum brakes. No ventilation flap, minor fuel injection mods if you have a 220SE, different mirror placement. There are also minor front suspension changes relating to drum vs, disc brakes and brake booster type and placement.
