Flywheel - TC Mismatch (Update)
I investigated further and found that there is no bushing. The center hub of the flywheel on the new engine is 35mm vs 60 on the old. The obvious solution is to use the flywheel from the old engine. Should I just bolt it on, or get it balanced to the flywheel that came with the engine?
Any experience out there? Chuck

Get the other flywheel balanced to match the one on the engine.

Just to close the loop - after consultation with the machine shop, decided to bore the center hole of the "new" flywheel out to 60 mm to accomodate the "old" TC. Picked it up on Friday and the transmission bolted up without incident.
Engine now sitting in the car! Chuck |
