w108 -- 1972 280SE 4.5 --- parts for sale

Not to hijack the Vintage forum, but I did want you all to know that I have a set of headlight surrounds for sale in the Parts forum.

I also have the rear bumper, tail lights, and gas filler flap with vacuum lock mechanism that will be for sale. In addition, I think I have a center console with window switches from the same car.

Also, have some electronic parts.

You should put the complete rearend assembly (brake rotor to brake rotor) up for sale as it bolts into our 1960's Fin Tails (w110, w111 coupe and sedan, w108) and drops the rpms at highway speed by about 900. It's like having 5th gear! Plug-n-play, with no mods necessary.

Todd --- The parts for sale -- rear bumper, fuel filler flap, tail lights, headlight surrounds, and center console, I pulled because they looked too good. I believe the car has been crushed. If you are interested in the complete rearend assembly, I'll be happy to pull it for you if the car has not been crushed.

There is also a 1975 280C in the boneyard. I've got a light switch out of it.

I put that same rearend under my coupe back in May of '92. So been there, done that. Thanks for the offer though.

You might go back and check to see if that rearend has the spring in the middle, by the differential, or the compensator (big metal cylinder). If it has the compensator, that's worth grabbing.

Isn't a w109 an air suspension model? So you can't put that axle into a non-air suspension Heckflosse.

116 rear?

would a rear from a 73-75 116 body 450se fit into the 111 coupe? just curious. the 116 rear seems lighter then the 280se 4.5, and i imagine it would have the same gearing.

The bumpers are the same....To possibly save some time and money, indicate if you need all 3 pieces (the little "bumperettes" are separate pieces). Come to think of it, I think the long section might be a two piece item as well.

I just uploaded all the pics --- and stuff for sale; this is collecting dust and taking up room in my garage. It has to go.

Just make me a reasonable offer.

The car has been crushed so the only parts I have are the parts posted at: FS: w108 rear bumper --- $100 OBO plus shipping

If you are looking for wheels, please either send me a PM or make a post over to the Parts Forum entitled: WTB: 14inch hubcap friendly wheels

Or please scroll up to where I said:
